Mudryk and Broja score as Chelsea defeats Fulham 2-0 in the Premier League.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja’s two goals in a minute in the first half gave Mauricio Pochettino’s struggling squad the victory at Craven Cottage and propelled it to 11th place in the standings.

With a 2-0 victory over Fulham on Monday, Chelsea’s protracted drought without a Premier League victory came to an end.

Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Broja’s two goals in a minute in the first half gave Mauricio Pochettino’s struggling squad the victory at Craven Cottage and propelled it to 11th place in the standings.

It was Chelsea’s second victory in the Premier League this year and its first in the league since August 25.

Conor Gallagher, captain of Chelsea, remarked, “It was a decent performance, maybe not as good as we would like, but the most important thing was three points and we desperately needed that.”

Chelsea took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to Mudryk, a $108 million acquisition from Fulham who controlled Levi Colwill’s pass and finished past Bernd Leno.

A minute later, Broja doubled the advantage. Cole Palmer, a summer acquisition from Manchester City, capitalized on a mistake and assisted Broja.

We must increase our self-assurance and faith, according to Pochettino. “I’m so happy for the players, and in the end, we got what we deserved.”

After such a difficult start to the season, Pochettino should have something to build on with the win, which comes after his team defeated Brighton in the English League Cup last week.

The Argentine, who was appointed at the end of the previous campaign and given the task of bringing Chelsea back to its heyday, has not had an easy time.

After its worst-ever Premier League campaign the previous year, his hiring may have improved the club’s spirits, but Chelsea’s performance has not immediately improved; they are currently 15th coming into Monday’s game.

The only other wins it had were in the League Cup and came against newly promoted Luton in the league.

This is true even though owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital once again spent heavily on transfers in the off-season.

But after scoring two goals in a quick succession in the first half, Chelsea was destined to secure its first away victory of the season.

Following the intermission, substitute Ian Maatsen came dangerously close to scoring a third goal, but his sidefooted shot rebounded off the post. Leno blocked Enzo Fernandez’s attempt to score on the rebound.

Sasa Lukic, a substitute for Fulham, had a chance to score a goal in the 77th minute with a shot from about six meters away. However, he directly shot at Chelsea’s Robert Sanchez.

Fulham manager Marco Silva stated, “It is obvious that we cannot make the mistakes we made at this level and against these types of clubs. “We paid the price for the errors we made,”
